The First Order is a military force of unknown motivation that uses troop and vehicle designs similar to the Galactic Empire. The First Order serves as the antagonist in Star Wars: Episode 7 The Force Awakens.
Description
[edit]
The First Order is a military and political organization modeled at least in part on the principles of the Galactic Empire. It's symbols and imagery are closely reminiscent to those of the Empire. It deploys redesigned versions of Stormtroopers, TIE Fighters, and variants of the Star Destroyer.
The First Order appears to be an organization with evil and villainous intent, as illustrated both by its embrasure of the trappings of the genocidal Galactic Empire and its affiliation with the Knights of Ren.
First Order Stormtrooper and pilot costuming is reminiscent of the Empire, but with an integrated smooth sheen and more angular design approach.
Squad Leader Games
At least one officer, Captain Phasma, wears a suit of chrome-sheened armor.
Insignia[edit]
History[edit]
The history of The First Order is mostly unknown at this time. More will be revealed in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.
The First Order obviously has some roots in the Galactic Empire, as revealed by its use of Imperial symbolism, uniforms, vehicles, aesthetics, and technology.
This was further elaborated on by director J.J. Abrams in an interview with Empire, when he stated: '“That all came out of conversations about what would have happened if the Nazis all went to Argentina but then started working together again?’” Abrams reveals. “What could be born of that? Could The First Order exist as a group that actually admired The Empire? Could the work of The Empire be seen as unfulfilled? And could Vader be a martyr? Could there be a need to see through what didn’t get done?”' Source
Starkiller Base[edit]
Starkiller Base acts as the primary headquarters for the First Order. Unlike the Empire's Death Stars, Starkiller is a massive weapon/base built into an ice planet of unkown origins.
It's like coming in and watching the last 2 minutes of an hour long drama show and saying this episode sucks because it has no plot. It's utterly ridiculous! There have been 31 marvel movies leading up to this point. Every single one of those ratings and reviews should be taken down and not added to the rating for Infinity War because of their fundamental lack of understanding. Vingadores guerra infinita legendado online.
Starkiller base is similar to the Galatic Empire's Death Stars in size and attack philosophy. Built on with more advanced technology, Starkiller base can destroy stars, and as a direct result, all life in that sector of space.
An image of Starkiller Base as it appears from space is on the Force Awakens movie poster.
Locations Active[edit]
Beyond controlling Starkiller Base, the First Order has expanded their operations to locations across the galaxy. The First Order is known to have attacked the desert planet of Jakku.
Leaders[edit]
Supreme Leader Snoke is the mysterious leader of the First Order. It is unclear at this time if Snoke is a 'public' leader in the style of the Emperor or if Snoke rules from the shadows. The only details that are known about Snoke's appearance is that he is 7 feet tall and very, very thin.
General Hux
One of the youngest Generals in the First Order, General Hux believes in training, discipline, and tradition. Hux sees the First Order as a force for law in a chaotic galaxy. His focus on structure and the material brings him into philosophical conflict with the beliefs of Kylo Ren.
Kylo Ren
Kylo Ren is a member of the Knights of Ren and a leader in the First Order. Kylo's exact rank in the order is not known, but he is a political equal of General Hux. Ren has an obsession with Darth Vader or at least his ideal of the deceased Sith. Ren is known to have a fiery temper and wields a unique lightsaber that produces a cross-guard.
First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader
Captain Phasma
Clad in distinct shining armor, Captain Phasma is the commander of the First Order's Stormtrooper legions.
Members[edit]
Like the Galactic Empire before it, the main battle force of the First Order is made up of Stormtroopers. Stormtroopers are trained in the use of a wide range of weaponry and durable armor that can be customized for different environments or load-outs.
Snowtroopers
First Order Snowtroopers are a focused group of Stormtroopers that wear insulated armor, ideal for extended missions in icy environments. It is known that a squad of Snowtroopers join Kylo Ren on at least one patrol.
First Order Flametroopers are special group of Stormtroopers trained in the use of flamethrowers. Flametroopers also wear modified armor that is designed to be flame resistant. In the trailer for Episode VII, Flametroopers can be seen burning down a village.
Vehicles & Weapons[edit]
Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle
Kylo Ren's personal shuttle has the same Ion Engines found in the Special Forces TIEs and a Retracting Upper Stabilizer system similar to the Galatic Empire's shuttles. Ren's shuttle has side mounted laser cannons and an enhanced communications system that allows him to stay in contact with First Order leadership while in deep space.
Star Destroyer Finalizer
The Star Destroyer Finalizer is an improvement over the traditional Galatic Star Destroyer. The Finalizer has eight Gemon-8 Ion Engines that work with three Koy Destroyer Ion Engines for superior speed. For combat, the Finalizer has Turbolaser Cannons lining its sides and forward faces Ion Cannons. Finally, this Star Destroyer has a much smaller Deflector Shield Generator than previous models, making for a smaller weak spot.
Black Squadron Tie Fighter
The First Order's Black Squadron TIE Fighter's have designs that are very similar to those used by the Galatic Empire. These fighters come with solar arrays that make them fuel efficient for long patrols and twin laser cannons mounted on their underside for offense.
Special Forces Tie Fighter
The First Order's veteran pilots fly an improved modle of the TIE Fighter that is upgraded with Enhanced Ion Engines that allow for a faster top speed.
Allies/Associates[edit]
The Knights of Ren is an antagonistic organization working with or perhaps part of The First Order. While their structure is not fully understood, Kylo Ren is a known member. It is believed that members take the honorific 'Ren' to represent their membership in the Knights.

Equipped with sleek armor and powerful weapons, the stormtroopers enforce the will of the First Order.
Love them or hate them, the reality of action figures with only five points of articulation really hits home when you consider a figure like the First Order Stormtrooper or any derivation of it, like the First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader for example. Hasbro introduced the First Order Stormtrooper Build A Weapon figure on Force Friday, and we have received multiple versions since. A similar figure was introduced in the fun Amazon exclusive First Order Legion boxed set. A character like the First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader is in need of super-articulation. There. We said it. And although Hasbro is sort of answering prayers by releasing a 3.75” super-articulated version of the generic First Order Stormtrooper in the Walmart exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] line, it just won’t meet the demand of those who are desperate to see all of the variants like this one. And why should we have to buy a 5POA figure to get the cool accessories like the ammo vest? That being said, we must fairly critique a figure for what it is. And to do that we must put super-articulation on the side and look at the figure and base it on its own merits. When we do that, we’re able to state to a certainty the Build A Weapon First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader once again has an excellent sculpt. And once again the blaster can be affixed to the figure’s right thigh armor. It’s a great addition here even for a budget action figure.
If there is one thing the Build A Weapon line is doing to out psyche that we didn’t expect, it’s that it's making us favor The Black Series 6” scale much more than we ever anticipated. And for us that's extremely bittersweet; and sadly residing on the bitter side of the scale/spectrum. We get the need for a budget line, but it was never meant to take over on a grand scale like this. For the entire The Force Awakens line to be all simply articulated budget figures is extremely difficult to digest. And this is especially true for those who have seen the line grow and blossom for over 30 years to regress back to the days of Kenner’s approach. Of course, it is what it is and there is no use beating a dead horse because it’s unlikely things are going to ever return to the way they were. But for those collectors who defended every last move of Hasbro’s, we offer them an opportunity to admit they were deceived and led astray like all of us were. According to “enlightened” and “alternative” new thinking about 5POA, a movie year was supposed to allow Hasbro the opportunity to do it all. This included a strong return to super-articulation. Instead, the 3.75” super-articulated line has been relegated to a store exclusive. This is a bitter pill to swallow, especially since we were led to believe that the future was bright. But the more figures they make, the more variations they can add into the line to give us a nice diverse selection of troopers. We think this is a great steady way of doing this.
If you can get past the minimal articulation of the Build A Weapon figures, especially for an army builder, then you’ll likely find favor with the First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader. Again, to reiterate, the figure has an excellent sculpt. There is no doubt Hasbro knows how to tool action figures still and very well. Even the few paint operations on the First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader have been applied tastefully and as needed. The ball-socket head gives that extra movement needed to give the figure some attitude. The gun fits into both hands well and even the gun has been painted remarkably well here, too. Plus, the ammo vest is the icing on the cake. It even has an attached white pauldron. Overall, if you’re just looking to display this figure on a shelf, it isn’t going to look half bad because it is a great sculpt. Heck, even some of Hasbro’s earliest super-articulated army-builders didn’t even look this good, but it’s hard to accept that a figure in The Force Awakens era can move so little. Included with the First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader is a Build A Weapon part. This one comes with a huge blaster rifle that connects with two other parts to make a bigger, albeit silly, weapon to give the figures more play value. A nice change of pace to the First Order army, the First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader is definitely a decent figure. You’re likely just going to want more out of it. And you will certainly want more articulation.
